It’s getting chilly and I can feel autumn coming along. It’s that time of year when the clocks go back, it starts getting darker in the evenings, and we all try to squeeze out a little more summer before settling down for the chill.
I just thought I’d pop in to my local Sallies for a quick peek and look what I found! A purple silk Max dress that is just perfect for the seasonal transition. When it gets colder I will wear this with black tights and boots, but right now in Auckland I could get away with a short sleeve underneath and bare legs. It’ll even be useful next summer as a breezy sleeveless wrap dress.

I love the texture and detail of the neck line. I’m normally not into frills but this is just enough to be interesting without being overly frilly. And to be totally honest, this is straight off the line and not even ironed! That’s a win for me as I’m always wary of clothing that’s ‘dry clean only’ or needs ironing at the slightest fold.
I always nab anything made of natural fibers like wool or silk from second hand stores as not only does it last well, it looks more expensive and is easier to wear because it breathes.
And the best part?
It was $4.50

Mrs Mannequin is looking good! Like the body suit under and too summery dress idea. Allows us to extend the wearability of things and therefore to have a smaller total wardrobe.
