Summer is nearly here! It’s my favorite season when everything just seems brighter and lighter. So when I laid eyes on this brand new Augustine dress in Savemart I thought, ‘That’d be great for a wedding’
But why don’t we get dressed up more often? I see people go to dinner in shorts and jandals, the movies in slippers, or even to the supermarket in pajamas!
I’m not saying let’s all get dressed to the nines to do our weekly shop. But wouldn’t it be nice to get dolled more often than twice a year for weddings and formals?
I think people are afraid to stand out by being over-dressed. Especially us shy kiwis. But you can stand out just as much being under-dressed. Why not put your best foot forward and turn heads for looking glamorous instead of frumpy and boring? I get it, you’re feeling tired and the last thing you want to do is put on a nice frock and some makeup, but i often find if I look nice on the outside it seeps into the inside too. Fake it till you make it. (don’t roll your eyes at me)
Augustine is designed in New Zealand and founder Kelly Coe says; ‘I created Augustine because I wanted to offer feminine, unique and colorful garments. I hope that by wearing these garments you feel beautiful, feminine and fabulous.’
So hell yeah bought it! For $39. The price tag showed $199 crossed out, then $159.20 crossed out, then $99. Which means everyone else was too chicken.
I’m going to wear it on date nights this summer, on Christmas day, to brunch, and any other occasion where I want to feel good from the outside in.
Happy hunting in the sunshine everyone!

Fabulous. Can’t wait for date night!
You will rock that cut and colour Mrs M! Funny I was thinking the same thing at the weekend when my friends and I discussed the great dresses they have in their wardrobe that they have NEVER yet had the opportunity to wear. I think the premier of Bohemian Rhapsody could be a good dress up excuse, even for shy kiwis!
